THE POWERS OPPOSED TO GREECE ANNEXING.
THE SACKING OF CHRISTIAN VILLAGES CONTINUE.
London, August 13
In the House of Commons the Hon G. N. Curzon, Parliamentary Secretary of the Foreign Office, stated that the Powers were opposed to Greece annexing Crete. He also stated that while the British fleet in Cretan waters was unwilling to resort to force it had greatly helped to prevent disorder.
Constantinople, August 13. Four Christian villages in Crete have been sacked.
Zihru Pasha has full powers to make a settlement in regard to the reforms desired in Crete.
