THE CASE FOE THE CEOWN CLOSED. [By Telegraph.] [Special to Standard.] Wellington, this day. The Kirby case was closed without the testimony of Campbell, the witness for whom the Court adjourned yesterday. Campbell was a clerk in the Bank of New Zealand, Christchurch, and was supposed to be able to testify to Kirby cashing certain cheques. Sir Eobert Stout raised a point that the evidence did not sustain the charge, but that one of false pretences on condoning a felony would probably lie. His Honor said the case must go to the jury but he would reserve the point. The Crown Prosecutor is addressing the jury,
