The Flax Industry.
DEPUTATION TO THE MINISTER OF LANDS. Special to Standard. Wellington, This day. A deputation waited on the Minister of Lands to-day representing the flax industry and urged that an expert be sent to America and Great Britain in connection with the grading of fibre and to make a general canvass of manufactures as to what causes are injuring the sale of the New Zealand article. It was suggested that Mr John Holmes be selected as grader. The Minister promised full consideration.
