Iwate. June 10. About «.80 p.m. yt-sterday a calamitous tidal wave and earthquake were experienced at the port of Kuji, South Kunohe district, Iwate prefecture. About 100 houses were carried away, and great 10-ss of life occurred. At Otsuchi, South Hei district, over 100 houses are reported to have been washed away, and a number of people drowned. hnizrKAWA. I'taku, - in iTotoyoshi district, about 1030 people were drowned, and over 000 houses demolished : at Onaeawamura, Ojika district, one person was drowned, and about 30 houses collapsed; at Okaehi, Jugo-hama-mura, Momo-o district, 80 houses collapsed, and a considerably number of people were » either drowned or injured.
