A BIG FAILURE.
A CHICAGO FIRM FAILS FOR A MILLION STERLING. Washington, August 4. Moore Bros., financiers, Chicago, have failed for a million sterling, in consequence of which the Exchange closed to-day. The closing of the Exchange was decided upon at a conference attended by 40 bankers. It is thought that this action may be the means of staying a panic.
