THE SITUATION IN CRETE.
THE POWERS AWAITING DEVELOPMENTS. London, August 2. The Powers are exchanging views respecting the uprising in Crete. They are waiting to fee the effect of the warning given to Greece before deciding on what measures shall be taken. The Embassies have instructed the Consuls to prevent bloodshed at Canea. The Sultan has vetoed the Notes sent by his Government to Greece.
