" Terlinga," in the Australasian, complains bitterly of the deliberate manner in which horses have been "pulled" at recent race meetings in Victoria. The Nelson Mail hears that a settler in the district has consented to allow two of his daughters to go to America With some Mormon elders. One of the girls declines to go, but it is likely, unless the law is set in motion, that her sister (aged 15} will be taken.
