With only 64 runs to get to win, the Australians commenced their second innings, and made the required number with a loss of three wickets. In the second innings of the Surrey team Trott took one wicket for 56 runs, M'Kibbin three for 49, and Jones four for 13. AGAINST EARL DE LA WARR'S ELEVEN. London, July 80. The Australians commenced a match at Bexhill with an eleven mainly composed of Sussex players chosen by Earl de la Warre. The weather was fine, but the attendance small. The Colonials went in first, but the wicket proved a very bad one,, and they were all out for 80. Giffen with 25 and Hill with 24 were the only ones to reach double figures. Result of tour :—Matches played, 28 ; won, 14 ; lost, 3; drawn, 6. Through Hill's recent big score in the match against Surrey he now holds the leading position among the batsmen, the averages standing thua after the last match :
