IN A HEALTHY STATE. Brisbane, July 29. In Ihe Budget the estimated revenue lor the last 12 months was £3,469,850. while the actual receipts were £3,641,553. Taxation yielded £1,566,000; being an increase of £92.000 over that anticipated, while the railway receipts ; Fere £75,000 in excess of the estimate. The expenditure was estimated at . £8,431,503, while the amount expended r ms £8,567.947. The surplus would be handed over to the trustees appointed last year for the purpose of the extinction of the public debt. The Government intend shortly to intioduce a bill to make a considerable to the free list. These will feealmoni confined to articles which produce little revenue, and the remission is based upon the principle of wiping away obstacles, as far as the colony can afford, that stand in the way of the development of trade.
