THE IRISH LAND BILL PASSES THE COMMONS. London, The House of Commons roae at 4.40 this morning, having been engaged all night in patting the Irish Land Bill through Committee. Congratulations were extended to Mr Balfour for the skilful manner in which he had piloted the Bill through. Lord Ashbourne, Lord Chancellor of Ireland, will take charge of the Bill in the Lords. Mr Chamberlain considers that the best means of ending the Matabele revolt would be to offer a free pardon to the leaders.
