Floods in the South.
[Special to Standard.] CIIRISTCHfRCEI. July 23. Heavy weather is reported all over Canterbury, and shipping movements have been considerably interfered with. Fears are entertained that the scow Eclipse has been wrecked. She carried a crew of four men. Slips- are announced in all directions and several cottages have been destroyed. The weather is now moderating. Duxedix, July 23. An extraordinary downpour of rain was experienced yesterday, and many of the shops and dwellings in the lowlying portion of the city were flooded.
