The Omaha District.

[From Ovk Own Corbesposdemt.] We are now having fine spring weather, in fact, the oklest residents here say they never saw anything like it before at this time of year. The 'Natives have I n catching large hauls of whitebait lately; they say thiit whifcelait b.ing in evidence so early is a sure sign of an early summer. The gardens round here are in a very forward -tau. At Fernhill and Ngapuke the early peas are in full bloom, and everything else ingly\Ve want no Yankee pig-killing machine oat this way. Mr Jackson, of bacon-curing renown, is knocking the record into a cocked hat. The other afternoon he killed and dressed thirteen prime bacon hogs for Mr Brought on at Ngapuke, and was finished early and had not the best of conveniences. There are a few lambs here and there; but we won't have a general lambing until next month. The sheep oat this way never looked better in any previous season, more especially the hoggets. There are very few deaths amongst them as vet. and with' the abundance of feed that there is they should be able to weather the remainder of the winter. Ploughing is now in full swing everywhere, and some fine teams of horses could be picked out from amongst them. There have been a great many iinpro\emems made and put up at Xgapnkt. Then are «till one or two more wanted very badly, of which I am taking und will let you know of " in the sweet bjr-*ad-bye."
