The wool shipments from New Zealand for the ended June 80th came to a total of 306.05 5 i.a[- ~. an increase of 10,571. The principals ports were : —Wellington 90,71i1>, Nupier (50.596, Lyttelton 76,170, Dunedin .-55.607, Auckland 16,205, and Timaru 22, r>i With the exception of Ti:u > ira the Bluff, and Picton all the places show an increase. A meeting of the Ward Fanners' Association was held to-day, nearly 800 members being present. (8) " That, recognising the immense sendees to Southland rendered by Mr Ward, we record our sympathy in his misfortunes and continued confidence and are not going to desert him because of his misfortune"', but wish him a speedy recovery, and will afford him ever;.' assistance to establish his business, and a committee of sixteen inUluential farmers be formed to consider the best means of reconstruction."
