NAPIER V. HASTINGS.
[To the Editor."; Sir, —All the correspondence you have allowed to be inserted in your journal re the shifting of headquarters from Na, ier to Hastings has been in the direction of arguing that the patrons of the various bodies should be considered. As the patrons aforesaid appear to average as much backbone as a lame lizard a change will never take place. Some of the Hastings people are positively afraid of saying a word against the injustice they daily submit to in being compelled to look to Napier for everything. They have come to look upon her as a foster mother, and will cling to her apron strings and cringe to her. rather than stand up for their rights. It is positively surprising that none of the parties most interested in getting a change are possessed of sufficient force of character to demand that the convenience of patrons should be considered. —I am, Ac., No Humbug.
