Two thousand Yooangaz have de-. sertecl from the Beira railway works' and it is feared they have joined the rebels. Captain Fiummer. with a strong force, has been despatched to attack a stronghold of the natives at Halda, which is situate about sixty miles from Bulawayo. Reinforcements have been sent to assist the garrison at Fort Charter, where considerable apprehension was caused by the threatening attitude of the natives.
