+ CRETANS TAKING REFUGE IN A MONASTERY. Athkns, June 28. Seven thousand Cretans, fearing a massacre, have taken refuge in a monastery at Gonia, and are seeking to emigrate to Greece. The Turkish soldiery are marking the houses of Christians residing in Canea, a seaport of Crete, and a massacre is feared.
