THE AUSTRALIANS ALL OUT FOR 53^ London, June 22. The first of the test matches between the English and Australian elevens began at Lord's to-day. The weather was fine and the wicket very fast. The attendance numbered between 25,000 and 80,000. The general opinion is that a finer English team was never picked. The Australians won the toss, and decided to bat, but had a series of misfortunes, and the whole team was dismissed for the small score of 53. Donnan was dismissed by a brilliai t return by Jackson when the score stood at five. Giffen had the bad luck to touch he first ball the received. Gregory and Darling made a good stand, and put on about three-fourths of the total score. Graham was dismissed first ball, and both Hill and Kelly played one on to the wickets.
