Extraordinary Shooting Case.

A distressing affair is reported from Copenhagen. Mr David Lloyd Morgan has shot himself and a girl named Cecilia Karolina Anderson. A Copenhagen telegram of a recent date says: —" The young lady was a seamstress, belonging to Malmo, and was only 19 years of age. The couple were seen to meet at the railway station in Copenhagen at half-past seven in the evening of the 18th. They entered a first-class carriage, which had been engaged by Mr Morgan. Both seemed to be laboring under very great excitement, their demeanor, indeed, attracting the attention of people on the platform. When the train arrived at Klampenborg, which is not far from Copenhagen, they were found lying on the floor of the carriage, the girl having a bullet wound in her left temple, and the man a similar wound in his right temple. They were still alive. Medical aid was at once summoned, and the_y were conveyed to the hospital in this city. An attempt was made to extract the ballet in the case of Mr Morgan, but without success. Death resulted in both cases about 11 o'clock at night. No motive can be assigned for the crime, and no information on the point could be gleaned from the victims themselves, who remained unconscious from the time they were discovered at Klampenborg until their death. Mr Morgan was a son of a merchant in Liverpool; now deceased. The marked ability and wide knowledge he displayed as a lecturer on the English language and literature at the University of Lund had earned for him considerable reputation, and his lectures were always largely attended. He was also well known and greatly liked in society at Copenhagen. He translated a number of works of distinguished Swedish writers into English, and prior to his death was engaged with Dr. Wenstrom iu the compilation of a Swedish-English dictionary.
