AGAINST AN ENGLISH ELEVEN. A BOWLERS' WICKET. SMALL SCORING. London, June 8. There was only a moderate attendance at the match to-day, though the weather was fine. The wicket was heavy, and decidedly in favour of the bowlers.
The Australians were the first to bat, and were all disposed of for 106, the chief contributors being :

When the Englishmen!- wont in they fared even worse than the colonials, the last wicket falling at SG. Pickett 20 Trafford ... ... 18 Phillips, not out ... 11
Giffen, who did the hat trick, disposed of six men for 20 runs, and Trumble took the other four for 85. The Australians had to commence their second innings on a bad wicket, and lost three men for 29 runs.
