It is reported that Mr Coulls, of Ccralls and Cullings, Dunedin, is to be the new Govermnent Printer. P. The Good and Kind Society meet at St. Matthew's Hall this evening at 7.30, when every member is requested to be in attendance. Archbishop Redwood opens a mission in the Hastings Catholic Church on Sunday morning at 11 o'clock. The Archbishop preaches also at the evening service. Mr C. Caulton, the son of the wellknown local boniface, has purchased the lease of the Exchange Hotel, Havelock, from Mr D. At 1.80 this afternoon a horse and dray, the property of Mr Heeuev, carter, was standing near the Post Office, when the horse taking fright bolted. Mr Heenev, who was in charge, jumped on board, guided the animal around the corner into Queen street, and pluckily holding on to the reins succeeded in pulling liini up. Fortunately no one was injured except a sheep dog belonging to Mr Jackson, which was run over and received such injuries that ii had to be destroyed.
