QUARTERLY SITTINGS. Wellington, Juno 8. The Supreme.- Court was occupied all clay hearing the charge ayain-l Charles Guroto, alius Bismarck, ot horse-stealing at Danevirke. Accused was found guilty and remanded for sentence. C'iiristchi/rch, June 1. At the Supreme Court Joseph Traylior was charged with the theft of money from the person. Dennis M'Grath, who had been committed for trial with the accused lnit released on bail, did not appear, and his recognisances were o rife red to be es treated. Joseph Traynor, charged with stealing £2O, was found guilty and sentenced to 18 months' imprisonment. George James Eden was found guilty of passing valueless cheques ami sentenced to" three years" imprisonment. Of twenty accused persons on the calendar nine pleaded guilty, live were convicted, and three others acquitted by the common jury. The Grand Jury threw out the bills against three- others and one absconded.
