MINING SPECULATION.

Mining speculation will soon bo at fever heat ; indeed we cannot have a mining boom unless we have red hot speculation, and when this comes about those anxious to make a " pile " will be apt to " overrun the constable" and seek protection in the Bankruptcy Court. To such the remarks of Judge Conolly at Auckland will be unpleasant. His Honor expects as a result of the mining speculation to have a crop of bankruptcy cases to deal with, and as he views mining speculation as mere gambling those who come before him as bankrupts through over speculation will suffer. Tlio judge's remarks will not have the slightest effect, and will in no way stop the mining gamble, which promises to be a very exciting affair throughout the colony.
