COMMERCIAL INTELLIGENCE.
STOCK REPOIiT. Mr D. Crewe reports : —At the Hamua stock sale on Friday. 2"2nd., the entry consisted of seven lines of sheep (which included two pens of very fine 2 and 4tooth Lincoln ewes in lamb) and two small lines of weaners. There was a limited attendance of the public. Those who did attend, however, came with the intention to do business, and nearly every line changed hands at the following prices : Lincoln ewes, 8s ; crossbred ewes, mixed ages, 5s 9d; 2-tooth ewes, 7s 3d : aged ewes, 5s ; weaners, 22s to 265. On Saturday, the 23rd, at Pahiatuu, I held niv horse and miscellaneous sale. There was a good entry of horses, but they were mostly of an inferior class. There was a good attendance of the public. Bidding at the horse sale was slack and only a limited amount of business was done. The following prices were realised : aged trap mare, £3 5s ; young unbroken horses, 21s to 30s; dog cart, £ls. Several lots of boots and shoes and clothing realised satisfactory prices. The balance of the clothing, etc., will be offered next Saturday. At the timber sale yesterday low prices ruled and consequently good bargains were obtained by buyers.
