INTERCOLONIAL ROWING.

DOINGS OF THE CREWS

Sydney, May 18

McCormic-k, the Now Zealand sculler, with Chris. Neilson in attendance, gave visitors to the river today an opportunity of seeing what improvement has taken place in him since he has been under the tuition of the well-known professional. If the opinion of those who knew him as he was in Zealand is to be accepted, his improvement may be characterised as marvellous. Certainly looking at him for the first time he seems to get a good deal of pace out of his shell, although perhaps he does not get as mnch work out of his slide as he might. .

The contest is expected to be a good one, but the Queenslander (Black) is expected to get home first.

The New Zealand fours put in a hard day's work, and gave visitors a taste of their spurting capabilities.

The Victorian crew rowed in much better form to-day than yesterday. They finished their stroke much more cleanly, and the crew worked together like clockwork. The 0110 opinion is that whatever beats them wins.
