The sum of £2500 has been granted by the business-people for the Industrial Exhibition building. Dr Martin reported to the City Council last night that some meat submitted to him by the Sanitary Inspector was badly diseased. It was a case of tubercular pleuresy and entirely unfit for human consumption.
