The Burrumbeet is n screw steamer of 2.420 tons gross tonnage, and 1,561 tons net tonnage. Iler dimensions are:—Length. JSOOft; length of beam, 40ft; depth of hold, 10ft Tin. Her engines are what is known as triple-surface condensing engines of 2Ho h.p. nominal. She is schooner-rigged, and built of steel. Her registered speed is 14 knots. The s.s. Hauroto and Ta rawer a left Svdnev for New Zealand yesterdav.

Wellington. May 6. A diver who made an examination of the capsized barque Coromandel found that one of the plates on the port side amidships was cracked, and apparently two others were in the same condition. Several of the bolts were started, and two rivets were knocked out. while others were very loose. Captain Bcudall, secretary of the Underwriters' Association, has so far received no reply to his cable to the English underwriters.
