A Permanent Foot-rot Cure.
. Owners of shoop affected with footrot have in the pa-t resorted to innumerable expedients —at a cost of : cnonnou- sums—lll their endeavours i to rid their docks of that direful disease. Yet it must be admitted that the utmost they have achieved has been to merely check, for a time, the progress of the ailment, by having recourse to the constant application of bluestone, arsenic, antimony, Ac., a practice which, even though it may appear to afford temporary relief, must necessarily cause considerable labour and expense in bringing in and attending the sheep, and entail on them much suffering and undue wear aud tear through frequent handling. By an advertisement in another column it will be noted that a permanent cure is announced by Graham and Co. It is claimed for this new specific that, after the comparatively trilling initial cost incurred in its application, the cure is permanent. It has successfully withstood the severest tests which could be applied to it by many large sheepowners in New Zealand. It does not t t to us from a remote pari of a h Tt continent, but from a licigh--1 ii >g colony, where it has been wlv perfected after years spent in careful study and experiment by one who has had experience in the treatment and management of sheep. As our readers are aware, this disea-e has always been a soiucu of great trouble, expense and annoyance to ranholders, and any remedy such as this should be considered in the light of a public benefactor. What is also specially claimed by this specific is its being a preventative as well ; this alone must make it invaluable, for it is an established fact that the g.-r;n of the dis-'U lie* dormant all through the dry .< a - mi. and when moisture sets in 1-. very readily communicated to the sheep. The price seems very trilling compared with the benefits derived ; nor should it be forgotten that the quality of the wool coming from a diseased sheep is very much deterioated. Testimonials have been given by Government sheep-inspectors, and by runholders throughout the whole colony. Messrs Murray, Roberts, and Co. are the Napier agents.
