At the S.M. Court this morning, thirty-four civil cases were disposed of. •Judgment for amounts claimed with costs was entered up in the following cases : —S. Ridgway v. Rarumarewa te Rango, claim i'l 2s tkl ; \Y. Burnett v. Ilenrv Puakatu, claim €1 Os Gd : Stubhs, Paterson, and Co. v. "William Broughton, claim 615 18s. In all the other cases judgment was confessed. KIKIJY V. 11 EItMAX. In the case Kirhy v. Hermon, Mr Lee addressed the Court oil behalf of the plaintili. Mr Scannel, counsel for defendant, traversed Mr Lee's arguments, and quoted legal authorities at great length. The Magistrate delivered judgment for plaintili for £lO 15s without costs, and on the counter claim he awarded Herman £2l os without costs. Joseph Gavt v. Albert ILu'ria;.
Mr Turn bull delivered judgment in the case of Gam v. Ilapuku, claim for t"2s, value of portraits alleged to have been ordered bv and delivered to defendant. Plaintiff was awarded the amount paid into Court (£7 l- r >s) in satisfaction of the first item, and was nonsuited on the other items, each party to pay his own costs.
