Concert at Patutahi.

The concert at Patutahi on Tuesday night was an enjoyable one in every respect. Th j programme was good and was well gone through, the attendance was large, and the audience warm y appreciated the different items. Those who assisted were Mrs Stewart, Misses Dawson and Adair, Rev. Father Kehoe* Messrs Dalrymple, Nock, Woodward, Langford, Gillmore, and J. Palairet. Mrs Sunderland played the first overture, Mrs Wright the second, and Mrs Sunderland played the accompaniments. Every item was applauded, and many encores had to be giv<-u, but as with one exception each vocalist, has before deservedly won the apprec.ation of the public, no further remarks will bp necessary than m regard to the lady who appeared for tbe first time--Miss Dawson. That lady sang two pretty selections, besides encores, which of course were required, poss-sses a sweet soprano voice of high power, and the surprise is that her aid has not been previously ob tained at local concerts Miss Dawson suffers from tbe usual complaint, nervousness, but that would soon wear off, and those who beard her on Tuesday night will hope that ihey will again have such a pleasure at an early period. The only fault in the whole concert was the piano, which could not even make a pretence of beb-g in tune, and ihe accompanist and vocalists were at some disadvantage. A pleasaat dance followed the concert.
