Presentations to Mr Chas. Wilson.

(arncur. to thb btandabd.) Napier, last night. Ou Saturday evening the companionship of the Evening News asaombled round the “stone” in the composing room, and presented Mr C. Wilson, late editor of that journal, with a handsomely got up address., expressive of their appreciation of the many good qualities, regretting hie departure, and wishing him prosperity and happiness in big new sphere of labor at Marton. Mr Wilson having cordially replied, an adjournment was made to the Criterion, where a large number o£ friends and well-wishers soon mustered, Mi- Henry Williams presiding. Mr Williams spoke in eulogistic terms of Mr Wilson’s services to the Evening News, and presented him, on behalf of a number of friends, with a purse of sovereigns, Mr J. G. Gilberd afterwards presented a beautifully illuminated address to Mr Wilson, from the directors of tfie Evening News Company, regretting his departure, but wishing him success.
