Prince Bismarck rfc ntly descri' ed the journalists of Germany as cowards without principle or dignity. A five-year-old daughter of Mr Charles Dahlberg, farmer, near Briagolong, Victoria, was p’aying in the garden, and by some means a pony got into the enclosure. The child's eldest brother attempted to drive the animal out, but it was loth to leave the rich gruss, and getting near the little girl kicked her on the forehead, breaking the skull in and causing the brain to protrude. The brother called the attention of his father to the child, and the latter took her inside. Both the mother and brother of the child fainted at the sight. Mr Dahlberg drove the child into Sale, a distance of 26 miles, and placed her under the care of Dr. Valentine Brown. An operation was performed, and the child is now progressing favorably.
