Education Board.

The Hawke’s Bay Education Board met on Tuesday, when the fallowing business relating to this district was transacted:— From Gisborne asking the Board to support the Committee’s application to the, Minister of Justice for £7O, being half the amount required to purchase another section adjoining the present school site, the committee to provide £7O if the grant is made —Application to be made accordingly. From Gisborne, recommending Mr Param, ex-pupil teacher, be appointed to act in Mr Woodwards place at same salary.—Agreed to. From same, recommending that Mr J. Haughey be appointed assistant master.— Agreed to. From same, asking for a grant of £l5O for necessary repairs, alterations, <fcc.—£l2s was voted. The Gisborne committee also wrote that the school again was over crowded, and further accommodation was urgent.—The Board regretted that there were no funds at present available to provide additional accommodation. From Matawhero, recommending that Miss E. Batey, ex pupil teacher, be allowed to retain her present position for another year.— Regulations do not permit compliance with the request. From Urmond asking formore accommodation.—No funds available. From Ormond recommending Miss Pauline Murphy as pupil teacher.—Appointed. Gisborne and Waerenga-a-kuri committees were granted apparatus in compliance with their requests for such.
