BIG SUCCESS OF THE MINSTRELS. The Hicks Sawyer Minstrels gave their opening performance last night in McFarlane’s Hall, and, nothwithstanding the stormy weather, a crowded audience greeted the performers, the back part of the Hall being literally packed. Each item on the programme was well rendered, so much so that every song, dance, or negro sketch bad to be repeated to satisfy the audience, which testifies as to the ability ,of the Company to please. Hosea Easton s song with banjo accompaniment, was 8 good representation of the darkey at home. Though not able to give a more extended report of a pleasant evening’s entertainment, we must not omit to mention the solo of the trombone performer, which was capitally rendered.
