Entries for Maiden and Handicap Events, Nos. 7 and 11 excepted, will be received by the Secretary, at his office, up to 9 p.m. on SATURDAY, 17th November. Handicaps will be declared on November 24. First Event to start at 10 30 a.m.; others to follow at 20 minutes’ intervals. The Committee reserve the right to vary the programme. There shall be at least Four entries, or no event. EXTENSION OF BREAKWATER. i r HEREBY give notice that a Poll of the I Ratepayers within the Special District, i constituted in terms of the above Act, actually on the Ratepayers’ Roll, will bo held on WEDNESDAY, the l-l’.h November, ISBB, at ihe Polling Plaoas hereinunder mentioned, for the purpose of obtaining the consent of a Majority (both as to Number and Value) of the said ratepayers to a proposal to expend a further sum out of Loan, of £40,000, for the purpose of extending the Breakwater, now partly constructed at Gisborne, such expenditure to be subject in all respects to the conditions prescribed and imposed by the above Act,
