A case was heard at cuurey-nnhe-din, on Friday, in_gdu* h -*wo buyers of flour an a-*«au BiJugurio recover damages from R. Afleo and Co , of Timaru, for a b each of contract. It was alleged that certain quantities of flour and b-an were bought by the respective plaintiffs on a rising market, but were not delivered. In the first case, in regard to the flour, Mr W. Wrignt, of Dunedin, recovered £6O, the difference between the price at which the flour was to be sold and the price when the contract ought to have been executed. The new criminal code of Italy, just promulgated, abolishes the death penalty for murder of any serious erime:
