Melbourne, October 22. At Flemington this moynlng Whakawa* did the only gallop of importance, covering a mi’e with the greatest of ease in 1 min sec. The latest betting on the Melbourne Cup ’s 8 to 1 on the field. There are enquiries for Whakawai, Chicago, Mentor, Tradition, Cyclops, and Ensign, but no business has been transacted.
