GREAT LABOR STRIKES.

DANGEROUS WORK. A HIGHER RATE OF PAY DEMANDED. STRIKE OF MINERS. Paris, Sept 22. The workmen engaged in constructing the iron tower, projected by M. Effell to commemorate the destruction of the Bastille, have struck for higher pay owing to the unusually dangerous character of the work. The tower, which is intended to be b thousand feet high, has already reached a sufficient elevation to dwarf all the surrounding objects. A general strike has taken place among the miners of the Loire district.
