CANADA AND THE STATES.
SHERMAN’S POLICY, AMICABLE SETTLEMENT OF DISPUTEABSORPTION OF CANADA. Washington, Sept 18. Senator Sherman’s proposition to promote an amicable settlement of existing difficulties between the United States and Canada has been brought forward. The motion was brought forward with a view to the ultimate absorption of Canada by the States.
