AUSTRALIA AND CANADA. LORD LANSDOWNE’S OPINION. Ottawa, Sept 6. The Marquis of Lansdowne, GovernorGeneral of the Dominion of Canada, states that no active relations exist between Canada and Australia. He expresses an opinion that it would be an advantage if close trade relatione were effected. Canada, however, prefers that the Australian colonies should take the initiative in the matter.
