At the opening of the Supreme Court yesterday Samuel Evinson was exempted from serving as a juror on account of being over 60 years of age. George Wildish was also ex< eused, he being an active member of the Fire Brigade. An old 'and decrepit Maori woman, the prosecutrix in one of the oases, caused a little 1 amusement at the Supreme Court yesterday by sitting down among the jurymen, after she had given her evidence. Tenders are required up to the end of the month for the conveyance of mails to the different stations in this district, the contracts being for a period of two years.
