At a public meeting held at Hawera, convened by the County Chairman, it was resolved, “ That this meeting, while anxious to see relief granted to the ratepayers liable for New Plymouth harbor rate, etrongly object to any power being given to the Government to levy harbor dues at Waitara or Patea, under the Harbors Aot Amendment Bill, now before parliament.”
