[PHOM OUR OWN CORRESPONDENT.] Wellinoton, last night. Auckland members w.e mgving heaven And earth to get the lirisco seryioe retained, but it is thought it will be defeated by a majority of 7. In the House yesterday the Hon Mr Larnadh called attention to statements conoeruiijg film which were made by Mr Hobbs in the House some time ago, and also to an article referring to the same subject, which appeared in the N.Z. Herald. The statements made by Mr Hobbs were that the Hon Mr Larnach was drawing hi? honorarium while in Melbourne bn private uusinesc. Mr Hobbs afterwards found that hie asseftion was unfounded, and apologised to Mr Lkrnaoh. Mr Larnach moved that the proprietors of the N.ZHerald should be dealt with for a breach d£ privilege, and a resolution was carried' that the article was a breach of privilege, but no action was taken egalnst the proprietors of the paper.
