impudent Plagiarism.

A local poet has forwarded us some verses which are apparently intended as a parody upon some lines entitled "The mischief makers of Tologa Bay,” which appeared last Thursday ip an evening paper published in this town;— O could some happy thought devise A plan, by which we might chastise The robber, whom we oft surprise, Beneath a nom de The thief who flicbps from a poem, And thinks, because they're little known, To pass the verses as his own *, Their authorship assume. We have not space for the remainder of the verses, which go on to show the happy result in the prevention of impudent plagiarism and the selling of editors. The attempt tp palm off upon the public, as original, the lines we have referred to was such a barefaced one that we are surprised that it was not detected. We offer a prize of one shilling to the first one who sends us the name of the real author, pointing out the spiteful alterations made by the plagiarist. Now, boys 4nd girls, who will be first ?
