TO-DAY’B MATCH—GISBORNE TEAM’S CHANCES IMPROVING. (STANDARD SPECIAL CORRESPONDENT.) Napier, last night. The Napier team to play in the annual match against Gisborne left to-night, in the Wairoa, which sailed at seven o’clock. Th e team is composed as follows Full-back—Le Quesne. Three-quarters—Percy, McKay, and J. Boss. Halves—Norria and Dempsey. Wings—Morrison and Patterson. Forwards—Hawkins, Symonds, McKenzie, Moore, Fleming, Childs, and Hughes. Le Quesne takes the place of James Fleming who is suffering from an injured back, and Childs and Hughes take the places of Bobson and Stewart, who are unable to get awaypie team is not regarded a strong one. GisJiprne should be able to make a good stand Against them. The Natives in Wellington THE NATIVES ARE FAVORITES. [standard SPECIAL CORRESPONDENT, Wellington, last night. The weather is splendid, and there is every indication of a fine day for the football match to-morrow. Madigan and Elliott arrive from Auckland to-night, and will take part in the match. There is a possibility of Jack Taiaroa alio playing, and hopes are entertained that he will be induced to go Homs with the native team, which leaves Melbourne by the Garonne ‘August 17 The natives are the tvorites for the match to-morrow.
