A couple of months ago events occurred which gave much cause for reflection, and now we are told that the Directors have held a meeting, but will not allow the proceedings to transpire. Why this seoresy ? Is there something behind the scenes which it is thought should not be allowed to leak out ? There may be no grounds for such suppositions, but this secret conclave conveys a lurking apprehension that things are not as they should be. It the aspect of affairs is not satisfactory, there seems no reason why it should be concealed, yet by their mysterious actions the Directors are likely to give rise to a feeling of distrust which the circumstances may not warrant.
