DESTRUCTIVE FIRES.
SAW-MILLS TOTALLY DESTROYED. FIRE AT AUCKLAND. Auckland, last night. A destructive fire occurred on Saturday morning, at Whihanga, by which Schapp and Hansen's saw-mills, together with three cottages and a blacksmith’s shop, were destroyed. The properties were insured for £2,500, £1|506 of which is re-insured in various offices. On Saturday morning the shops of Messrs Levinsohn (tobacconist) and Sandford (fruiterer) were destroyed by fire. The premises and stocks were well insured.
