Mr F. Cassin has received a letter from the celebrated Leitch Company that they intend to play in Gisborne for a short season, commencing next week. The Company have been well received throughout the Colony, and they are sure to have a favourable reception here. Full particulars will appear suortly. The Government lecognise that £l5OO a year is insufflcient for a first-class railway expert and will bring down a message from the Governor authorising an increase of the salary of the Chairman of the Railway Board to at least two thousand.
