After one of the divisions in Committee last week it was pointed out to Mr Hamlin. Chairman of Committee, that Mr Sydney Taiwhanga had not voted, and, in fact, that hon. member was fast asleep. “Wake up the hon. member, ” said Mr Hamlin and accordingly Mr Taiwhanga was roused from his slumbers. Being then asked how he desired,to record his vote he accepted the promptings of those members nearest him and voted for the “Ayes,” not knowing] in the least what he voted
