Mr Mitchelsons ill-luck at horseracing seems to follow him. In the Caufield Cup run a forthight ago, Escutcheon was jammed against the rails, and in the Derby on Saturday Tranter fell when holding a good position. On Saturday night Mr Mitchelson received the following from his trainer: —“Ought certainly to have won. Last away Tranter fell on his head at the turn into the straight, thereby losing lengths. Just beaten for a place.”
