Dunlop .. .. 1 Silvertnine .. .. 2 Australian Peer .. 3 After a little delay the horses were got away to a splendid start. Silver Prince, Thunderbolt, Tranter, Oakleigh, and Charmer were the first to get away. Silver Prince led until near the sheds, when Dunlop assumed the place of honour, with Silvertnine and Australian Peer close up. A hard race took place all the wav home, Dunlop eventually winning by a length, Silvertnine being second, and Australian Peer third. Time, 3 mins 28J secs., the fastest on record.
